It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for Liverpool and their fans, with plenty of transfer business getting underway.
Over the last couple of days, a fair few players have been linked with an Anfield switch, with Arne Slot looking to improve his first-team squad in any way possible.
The Reds were already one of the most dominant teams in the Premier League last season, and with a couple of extra players added to their ranks, there’s no reason why they won’t be the team to beat in the 2025-26 season.
Here, Rousing the Kop have collected three of the biggest transfer stories to have emerged from Anfield on Thursday, 17 July.

One of the main players to have been linked with a Liverpool exit this summer is Harvey Elliott.
The young Englishman was the best player at the Under-21 Euros by a country mile this summer, with several Premier League teams showing an interest in him.
Indeed, he’s arguably got one of the biggest ceilings of any Liverpool player at the moment but with the recent addition of Florian Wirtz, there’s not much room left for him in Arne Slot’s first-team squad.
So, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see that Aston Villa now want to sign Elliott after losing Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Rodrygo is another player who has been the talk of the town this summer.
At the start of June, there were no rumours surrounding the future of the Brazilian at Real Madrid but since Xabi Alonso didn’t start him for five consecutive games in the Club World Cup, it seems like his hand has been forced.
Liverpool and Arsenal are among the teams who have been linked with an interest in the attacker this summer.
And now, thanks to a report from ESPN Brazil, it has been revealed that Rodrygo is ‘happy’ with the interest shown in him by Liverpool, with the Reds’ interest in the attacker now ‘genuine.’

One of the main stories to have followed Liverpool around this summer has been their quest for a new number nine.
Darwin Nunez’s form last season was spotty to say the least, and while Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo did a good job of filling in, both are better off in their natural positions.
Liverpool’s dream target since the window opened was Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, but since Eddie Howe and co have stuck firm with their ‘not for sale’ stance, it seems like Hugo Ekitike is the man Slot has chosen.
And, with the Reds now in pole position, a new report from BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel has shared that Liverpool would like to get the deal over the line by the weekend at the latest.
