Salma Hayek is celebrating her daughter on her special day.
The Grown Ups star, 59, recapped the festivities from her daughter Valentina’s 18th birthday celebration on her Instagram. In the carousel post, Hayek shared several pictures, including one of Hayek posing with the teenager and her husband François-Henri Pinault, and videos of her teenage daughter on her big day. In one video clip, the mother-daughter duo danced together in silk dresses.
“We ate, we danced, we laughed, we loved… and we kept the party going all weekend. Happy birthday mi cielo, celebrating you never feels long enough 🎂💃❤️,” she wrote in her caption, adding the Spanish translation of her heartfelt message after the emojis.
The proud mom also shared a throwback picture with her daughter on Instagram, calling the newly minted 18-year-old her “beautiful dancing queen.”
“My beautiful dancing queen. Today you turned 18 !!!!! So many things have changed in your life, but you are always soooo you,” she wrote in the caption. “A kind passionate heart, a wise soul full of magic, a unique unstoppable force of nature with a witty sense of humor and stubborn tenacity.”
“Some things will never chance we love you forever and although you were always ahead of your years you will always be in my heart my dream daughter,” she added. “Feliz cumpleaños Valentina Paloma ♥️.”
After meeting in 2006, Hayek and Pinault welcomed their daughter, Valentina, in 2007. The couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony at the 6th Arrondissement City Hall in Paris on Valentine’s Day in 2009, before celebrating with friends and family in a lavish wedding in Venice, Italy, in April of that year. Valentina was a flower girl.
When commemorating Valentina’s 17th birthday on Instagram last year, Hayek shared she was already having “separation anxiety” as she inches closer to becoming an empty nester.
“She makes me laugh all day, teaches me so many things, keeps me motivated, inspires in so many ways makes me want to dance sing and cook and makes life so exciting,” she said. “I love you sooooooooo much mi Vale 💋🙏♥️.”

During her chat with PEOPLE in April, Hayek opened up about how she’s preparing for the major life change.
“When you’re a Mexican Lebanese mother, it’s a very difficult thought because we like them close,” she shared.
“But I’ve been talking about it with my husband [French businessman François-Henri Pinault] for a very long time. I devoted myself to my family for 18 years, but we both know that once this happens, I’m going to devote myself to my community, to my craft. And he’s very excited for me to really try to go and explore what my greatest potentials are.”
