EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MGM Studios has added six to the cast of its submarine action flick, Subversion: Damon Herriman (The Bondsman), Jimmy Gonzales (The Odyssey), Alex Meraz (Dark Winds), CJ Bloomfield (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Awdo Awdo, and Saffron Deacon (Seriously Red).

Details as to the roles to be played by these newcomers are under wraps. As previously announced, Chris Hemsworth, Lily James, and Michael Peña lead an ensemble that also includes Joe Cole, David Wenham, Robert John Burke, Simone Kessell, and Teresa Palmer.

The film follows a once-promising naval commander (Hemsworth) who is blackmailed by a cartel-like organization into piloting a dangerous submarine carrying illegal cargo across international waters. Thrust into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse with a Coast Guard officer (James) in hot pursuit; he must outmaneuver blockades and navigate perilous threats, both inside and outside the submarine.

Patrick Vollrath (7500) is directing from a script by Andrew Ferguson, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing. Stephen Shafer and Greg Cohen are exec producing for di Bonaventura Pictures, alongside E. Bennett Walsh.

Herriman is represented by IAG, Art/Work Entertainment, and LMCM. Gonzales is repped by the Alexander White Agency and 42. Meraz is repped by Innovative Artists. Bloomfield is repped by Sophie Jermyn Management. Awdo is repped by Gilchrist Management, Gersh, and Vault Entertainment. Deacon is repped by Gilchrist Management and 42 Management and Production.
