ONE HOMEOWNER TOOK OUT HER PHONE AND FILM THE BEAR CLIMBING INTO A HAMMOCK AND GETTING INTO SOME TRASH THERE. ANOTHER SIGHTING WAS REPORTED A FEW BLOCKS AWAY ON DEAN WAY.

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

A black bear was seen roaming around McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers on Thursday.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it was notified of the juvenile male bear’s presence late Thursday.

With help from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, FWC’s staff was able to capture the bear.

A Gulf Coast News crew was there when FWC captured the bear in a small, wooded area near Winkler Road and Sunset Vista Drive.

FWC said the bear will be relocated to a more suitable habitat.
