Georgia volleyball fell in straight sets to Tennessee in its Southeastern Conference opener at Food City Center in Knoxville on Wednesday. The Bulldogs lost by a score of 25-19, 26-24 and 25-20. Georgia now drops to 8-3 overall in the 2025 season and 0-1 in conference play.

The Bulldogs upset No. 23 Georgia Tech on the road last week, but were unable to secure a second consecutive ranked road win.

Despite this loss, the Bulldogs challenged Tennessee in each set on both ends of the court.

Junior Bianna Muoneke led Georgia’s offensive charge, registering 13 kills. This performance marked her 10th consecutive match with double-digit kills, with seven of those kills in the second set alone. Georgia played largely from behind in the first and third set, but Muoneke’s performance kept Tennessee honest in the second, as the teams jostled for the lead for the entire extended set.

Sophomore MK Patten and senior Adriana Rhonda also made offensive impacts with eight and six kills, respectively.

On the defensive end of the court, redshirt-sophomore Makena Lim anchored the Bulldogs with nine digs. Alongside her, freshman Chloe Elarton added seven digs, along with 17 assists.

Georgia showed a strong defensive presence at the net, with redshirt-junior Tori Harper putting up five blocks and Patten putting up four of her own.

Georgia volleyball now continues its road stretch in Lexington, Kentucky, facing the No. 3 Wildcats on Friday, Sept. 26, at Memorial Coliseum.
