DUBLIN, Ireland — Pittsburgh Steelers third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson was jumped and robbed in Dublin, Ireland, on Friday night, the NFL Network first reported.
Thompson, who is on injured reserve, suffered minor injuries in the incident but is OK and with the team, according to the report. He was on the field in street clothes ahead of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park.

The Steelers arrived in Ireland on Friday morning and held a light workout from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. local time. Players had a limited amount of time to explore the city after practice.
“We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin,” Steelers spokesperson Burt Lauten said. “We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.”
Thompson, 28, is in his fourth NFL season and first in Pittsburgh. He was placed on IR on Sept. 10 after suffering a hamstring injury. The seventh-round 2022 pick was drafted by the Miami Dolphins and has played in 10 regular-season games and started a postseason game.
The Steelers-Vikings game is the first NFL regular-season game to be played in Ireland. It’s the second of seven international games this season.
