Week 5 of the college football season featured several ranked SEC matchups, and they all lived up to the hype.
No. 11 Ole Miss had potentially the biggest win of the day, defeating No. 4 LSU 24-19 in Oxford, Mississippi, behind a 300-yard passing performance from Trinidad Chambliss. The Rebels’ defense limited Garrett Nussmeier to 197 passing yards.

Meanwhile, No. 16 Alabama held off No. 3 Georgia with a 24-21 win in Athens, Georgia. The Crimson Tide jumped out to a 14-0 lead and led wire-to-wire to beat the Bulldogs for the second straight season, despite having zero second-half points.
Elsewhere, No. 9 Texas A&M staved off a late upset push from Auburn to earn a 16-10 win at College Station, Texas, while No. 15 Tennessee needed an overtime stop to hold off an upset bid by Mississippi State.
No. 19 Missouri cruised to a 42-6 win over UMass, while Diego Pavia had a six-touchdown performance against Utah State in a 55-35 Commodores‘ victory. Arkansas lost 56-13 to No. 21 Notre Dame. No. 7 Texas and No. 10 Oklahoma had their bye week this week, earning a much-needed rest for both programs.
