Ryder Cup 2025 – Sunday singles
Scheffler has to wait a second while a rogue cameraman sprints out of his way on the fairway. The wait doesn’t do him any harm as he strikes straight down the middle.
McIlroy is not so lucky, but the lie is decent.
Over on the sixth fairway Rahm wins back-to-back holes to level things against Schauffele!

Rahm has drawn this one level as he birdies the sixth!
He landed his approach within three feet and made no mistake.

Young had two putts to win the 10th and it’s a simple job for the American, as he goes two up in the first game.
On eight, McIlroy gets nowhere near with a birdie putt, and he’s looking out of sorts overall.
Scheffler has the chance to win the hole but his putt is similarly wayward.
Straka loses his first hole of the day with a mis-judged putt too, and he’s one up through six now.

All matches are underway now, so here’s the first look at the full leaderboard:
DeChambeau vs Fitzpatrick 4UP

Jack Rathborn at Bethpage:
“Bryson still disgruntled, splashing out from the sand and coming up well short. A distinct lack of energy from the raging demeanour he brought over two days, despite Europe’s ascendency. Another bogey, a grin at his staggering fall here. Fitzpatrick, for birdie, after a nice read from his opponent… it’s short, but he only needed to cosy it up, FIVE UP. Just stunning.
“The crowds have been behaving better today, but just then a sign of the chaos from yesterday. A restless American crowd start to jeer Fitzpatrick while he goes through his putting routine, “come on, get a move on!” The par putt is missed and a glare from Fitzpatrick back to the crowd, DeChambeau reduces the deficit to four down and has some hope.”

McIlroy ‘in a spot of bother’ there
Lawrence Ostlere reporting from Bethpage:
““Scottie, this is the only match that matters now,” shouts a fan on the seventh green, where a giant screen shows a mostly blue board in the background. The US would love to at least see McIlroy beaten today and he’s in a spot of bother here.”

We said McIlroy looked tired earlier, but he’s just produced a great third shot on seven to land four feet from the pin. It’s enough to halve the hole with Scheffler, as the American can’t land the 30-foot putt.
An error from Schauffele has also given Rahm a way back in on five too – the American is one up in that one.

MacIntyre and Burns have both secured pars in the final match of the day.
DeChambeau has responded to his nightmare opening to take a hole back from Fitzpatrick too.

This one is threatening to become embarrassing for DeChambeau, with the American now five down.
He took four shots to get anywhere near the pin and ended with a bogey, with Fitzpatrick simply having to find the hole in two.
Signs if irritation from Bryson as he made the Englishman putt despite him having two shots to get there.

Scheffler and McIlroy are struggling a little through six, with the headline pairing currently tied and both looking a little drained, both emotionally and physically.
