Chase Elliott used an incredible final-lap move to claim the second automatic berth in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs round-of-8.
Elliott beat out Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Chase Briscoe and Bubba Wallace on the final lap of overtime to win the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Motor Speedway.
Elliott joins Ryan Blaney as race winners from the round of 12 to move on to the round of 8.
The other six participants in the round-of-8 will be determined next week at the Charlotte Roval.
Elliott came out on top in one of the most dramatic finishes of the NASCAR season.
The driver of the No. 9 car weaved through traffic to pass Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace on the bottom of the track.
Wallace had the lead going into overtime. He faced challenges from a handful of drivers, all of whom were looking to clinch a win and get into the round of 8.
Hamiln, who finished second on Sunday, sits in a comfortable spot in the Cup Series points standings. He is 48 points ahead of the cut line. Only Kyle Larson is in a better spot 54 points above the cut.
Chase Briscoe and Joey Logano are in the most danger of falling out of the top eight at the Charlotte Roval. Briscoe is up 21 points on the cut line, while Logano is 13 points in front of Ross Chastain in ninth place.
Larson and Elliott will be the favorites to win next week. Each driver has two wins on the road course setup at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
