An adviser to President Trump is sending a “warning” to the NFL ahead of Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara, California.
The NFL announced on Sunday night that Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny will be performing at halftime of Super Bowl 60. Bad Bunny, one of the most popular musicians in the world, sings many of his songs in Spanish. He previously admitted that he didn’t do concerts in the United States, in part, due to a fear of ICE being outside of his shows. Many of Bad Bunny’s fans are from Central and South America.
“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times,” the Puerto Rican “Dákiti” rapper said in an interview with i-D magazine published in September.
“I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the U.S. But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the U.S.”
“People from the U.S. could come here to see the show. Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world.”
“But there was the issue of — like, (expletive) ICE could be outside.”

As many on the right criticize the NFL’s Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show pick, a longtime President Trump adviser is warning the league.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will attend the 2026 Super Bowl, according to Corey Lewandowski, an adviser at the Department of Homeland Security.
“There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” Lewandowski said Wednesday on “The Benny Show.”
“We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you. So know that that is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely contrary to what how it used to be.”
The NFL isn’t shying away from Bad Bunny
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture and our history,” Bad Bunny said in a statement Sunday.
Lewandowski, meanwhile, is not happy.
“It’s so shameful that they’ve decided to pick somebody who just seems to hate America so much to represent them at the halftime game,” he said.
“I was at the Super Bowl last year with President Trump. I had the chance to be in Louisiana in his box and watch the game, and got to enjoy that,” Lewandowski told Benny Johnson. “But listen, we should be trying to be inclusive and not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people out there who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them.”
“I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We’re going to do enforcement everywhere. We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, do yourself a favor: go home.”
Super Bowl 60 is set to be played on Sunday, February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
