The pals kept things casual — and somewhat matchy — in Venice Beach

The two actors have been friends since childhood

Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire are friends to the end.

The two 50-year-old actors were spotted in California’s Venice Beach on Wednesday, Oct. 1, visiting another friend.

With both DiCaprio and Maguire keeping things casual in dark caps, T-shirts and sneakers, it was also a twinning moment for the longtime pals. Both kept a pair of dark sunglasses hanging on their shirts — with DiCaprio, in some shots, also covering his eyes with a second pair.

Friends since meeting as kids in 1990, the One Battle After Another and Spider-Man stars have been spotted out and about with friends at nightclubs, on boats and at movie premieres over the years. The two have starred together onscreen in 1993’s This Boy’s Life, 2001’s Don’s Plum and 2013’s The Great Gatsby.

At DiCaprio’s star-studded 50th birthday bash in November 2024, Maguire joined fellow guests including Brad Pitt, Tyga, Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton, Cara Delevingne, Chris Rock, Kevin Connolly, Anderson .Paak and more. The Titanic star has in turn celebrated Maguire’s birthday in the past.

Maguire told PEOPLE in 2013 about the “affection” he and the Oscar winner share, saying they’re “like any other buddies. There’s a lot of laughing and chatting between us. We enjoy doing a lot of things we have in common, like basketball. We like to play and talk about basketball.”

Maguire hasn’t appeared on screen since 2022’s Babylon and an episode of 2023 miniseries Extrapolations, but as a producer worked this year on Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody 2.

DiCaprio has several projects as a producer in the works, including a biopic about the late Dr. Jane Goodall and more collaborations with longtime director Martin Scorsese. He stars with Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Benicio del Toro, Chase Infiniti and more in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, in theaters now.
