A partial government shutdown is now underway, after Congress failed to reach a spending agreement by the Sept. 30 midnight deadline to keep many federal programs and services running.

Every federal employee is affected by a government shutdown in one way or another. Based on agency contingency plans, approximately 750,000 federal employees are currently, or will soon be, furloughed as a result of the lapse in funding. Hundreds of thousands of other federal employees will continue to work, temporarily without pay, for the duration of the shutdown.

Regardless of what category you fall under, Federal News Network would like to hear directly from federal employees about their experience, now under a government shutdown. Please consider taking a few minutes to fill out the survey below. All survey responses will be kept anonymous. The results will be used in upcoming reporting for Federal News Network.
