The Cincinnati Bengals have made a pair of roster moves ahead of their Week 5 matchup with the Detroit Lions.

On Friday, the Bengals claimed defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson off of waivers from the San Francisco 49ers. Jefferson was waived by the 49ers on Thursday.

In a corresponding move, the Bengals waived defensive tackle Howard Cross III.

Jefferson, weighing in at 6-4 and 317 pounds, is a second-year player out of LSU who was a fourth-round NFL Draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024. He has played in nine career games for the Jaguars (2024) and 49ers (’25) while registering 12 total tackles and one sack.

Cross, a rookie out of Notre Dame, has played in one game for the Bengals this season and was inactive for three contests. The team will now likely try to get him onto the practice squad, though there’s a chance that another team will claim him off waivers before that can happen.
