Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 18 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways during the week of Oct. 4-10.

HIGHWAY 11

NĀʻĀLEHU

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Māmalahoa Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 60 and 71, in the vicinity of Kahuku Ranch Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for restriping, installation of centerline rumble strips and pavement markers.

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Māmalahoa Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 67 and 69, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for cutting grass.

KEAUHOU

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Māmalahoa Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 113.5 and 116.5, in the vicinity of Daifukuji Buddhist Temple and Māmalahoa Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strip, striping and pavement markers.

VOLCANO

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Volcano Road possible in either direction between mile posts 27.5 and 28.5, in the vicinity of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and Old Volcano Road, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for Hawaiian Electric installation of new powerline poles.

HIGHWAY 19

HILO

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Hawaiʻi Belt Road possible in either direction between mile posts 4.5 and 5, in the vicinity of Kāhoa Street and Kāhoa Place, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. on Thursday, October 9 for bridge maintenance.

ROVING SHOULDER CLOSURE on Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road possible in either direction between mile posts 0.1 and 1.1, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road and Keaʻau-Pāhoa Bypass Road, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6-11 for maintaining lines and markings.

WAIMEA

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Māmalahoa Highway possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for striping of lane lines, turn pockets and direction arrows.

SINGLE LANE CLOSURE on Pūʻainakō Street possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6-10 for striping, installing new raised pavement markers and traffic signal loops.
