Atlantic County has issued the following traffic advisories for the week of Oct. 6.. 

California Avenue will be closed to all through traffic between Route 9 and Main Street for drainage improvements Monday and Wednesday. 

Through traffic will not be permitted during the work hours from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The driveway to Holy Spirit High School will be open and accessible from Route 9 only.

Motorists should follow the posted work zone signs and plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route. 

Traffic directors will be on site to assist.

Westbound traffic only will be allowed along Ohio Avenue between Shore Road and Route 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Eastbound traffic will be detoured at Mill Road to Route 30 to Shore Road.

Motorists should follow the posted work zone signs and plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route. Traffic directors will be on site to assist.

Shore Road between New Jersey ad New York avenues in Somers Point will be detoured northbound from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for work by the city. The southbound lane will remain open.

Northbound motorists should follow the posted detour and plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route. Police and traffic directors will be on site to assist.

There will be intermittent openings of the Dorset Avenue bridge to test new electronic equipment from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Motorists may experience minor delays and should plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route.

The N.J. Department of Transportation has scheduled temporary closures on Route 40 both eastbound and westbound.

Temporary right lane closures from Franklin Boulevard in Pleasantville to the West End Avenue intersection in Atlantic City from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Temporary shoulder lane closures from Franklin Boulevard in Pleasantville to the West End Avenue intersection in Atlantic City from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.Temporary right lane closures from McKee Avenue to the Tilton Road intersection in Egg Harbor Township from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Temporary left lane closures along English Creek Avenue in Egg Harbor Township from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The shoulder lane and right lane closures are essential for conducting underground electrical work and traffic signal installation.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed, exercise caution and anticipate potential delays in the work area. The schedule may be adjusted based on weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.
