SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Four people were found dead in San Francisco on Wednesday.
The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed the bodies were discovered in a home on the 900 block of Monterey Blvd near Colon Avenue.
An SFPD detective told ABC7’s JR Stone Wednesday evening that two children are among the four people that were killed.
The incident was reported around 1:23 p.m. during a wellness check in the area of Westwood Highlands neighborhood, south of Mt. Davidson Park.
San Francisco police called the deaths suspicious and a “criminal action,” but this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no general threat to the public.
“This is a very rare occurrence in this neighborhood,” said SFPD Public Information Officer Robert Rueca. “At this time, the evidence is pointing toward a criminal case. This appears to be a criminal action, we’re not specifying what, any details regarding those criminal actions.”
The San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail is investigating.
The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause of death.
The victims have not been identified.
Investigators say they’re still trying to determine how the four people found in the home are connected.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
