Pretend those architectural plans are a shotlist. That’s about where we are in Ocean’s 14 development.

Three movies and a spinoff oughta do it, don’t you think? You think we need one more? You think we need one more. All right, we’ll get one more. George Clooney says an Ocean’s 14 is in the offing, and most of the gang is getting back together.
“We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set it up,” Clooney told E!News. He added that they’re looking to start shooting in 9 or 10 months. Clooney added that a lot of his pals will be returning for this movie — specifically Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and Julia Roberts. “I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends,” he said. “And so, the chance to work together would be fun.”
Not everybody is returning, however. Obviously Carl Reiner and Bernie Mac have passed. Director Steven Soderbergh has also said he won’t be returning for any future sequels. “After we made the third movie, I felt like the series was very much concluded for me,” Soderbergh told Variety in 2024. “When the studio approached me to see if I’d be involved in continuing the franchise, I told them no, because it just doesn’t feel like a move forward for me. I’m chasing something else.”
Oh somebody cares about Ocean’s 8! It’s true, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) visits Danny’s grave in the distaff counterpart film. But con men fake their deaths all the time. It’s easy work compared to pulling off the biggest Ella Fitzgerald ever. Who are you going to believe: a headstone in a spinoff movie, or Daniel Ocean himself?
Still reportedly in development! We haven’t heard a lot about the prequel starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie as Danny and Debbie Ocean’s parents since 2023. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Robbie has had to give birth and wuther some heights in that time, and Gosling has been in a galaxy far, far away. Maybe a big, swingin’ sixities heist is just around the corner.
