Beef Reproduction Task Force
The Beef Reproduction Task Force is proud to announce Stuart Rasmussen, Rushville, NE as a recipient of the 2025 Service to Industry Award in the AI Service Technician category. The award was presented during the Applied Reproductive Strategies in Beef Cattle (ARSBC) meeting held September 17–18 in North Platte, Nebraska.
This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement and adoption of artificial insemination (AI) and estrous synchronization in the beef industry.
“His [Rasmussen’s] long career has demonstrated what a valuable asset he is to his customers and to this industry,” remarks Jerry Connealy, of Connealy Angus. “The entire cattle region he serves has been improved due to his stellar work ethic, his dedication to education, and service to all.”
Rasmussen began his career in 1992, dedicating more than three decades to advancing reproductive technologies and supporting American beef producers. Each year, he manages the A.I. breeding of more than 10,000 heifers and cows, primarily in the late spring and summer months. Since 1992, he has sold over 650,000 units of semen—almost exclusively beef genetics. His success is rooted in building strong relationships, prioritizing customer care, and his steadfast belief in the value of artificial insemination.
“Stuart has had a huge impact in his territory for over 30 years, helping producers raise superior and more profitable cattle,” said Randy Hill, past general manager of Select Sires MidAmerica.
Along with his expertise in A.I. and estrous synchronization, Rasmussen is deeply knowledgeable about beef cattle genetics.
“Stuart is an incredible cheerleader for A.I.” remarks Brian House, vice president of beef program and product manager, Select Sires Beef. “Throughout his career, his diligence in promoting A.I and synchronization along with better genetics has truly made a difference for his customers.”
Known for underselling and overdelivering, he has tirelessly educated producers and promoted reproductive technologies that have driven genetic progress across the industry. His efforts have left a lasting legacy of improved efficiency and profitability for beef producers.
More than 250 producers, veterinarians, and representatives from the artificial insemination (AI) and pharmaceutical industries were in attendance at this year’s ARSBC. The Beef Reproduction Task Force together with the national Beef Reproduction Leadership Team work to promote wider adoption of reproductive technologies among cow-calf producers; educate cow-calf producers in management considerations that will increase the likelihood of successful AI breeding; and educate producers in marketing options to capture benefits that result from use of improved reproductive technologies.
