PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colo. (KREX) — On Thursday, Visionary Broadband announced that it has delivered high-speed fiber internet to 1,028 new homes and businesses in Pagosa Springs and the remote area between Lake Pagosa and Lake Hatcher.

The company, by expanding its services to the remote community, can offer residents up to 5-Gigabit speeds for a more reliable online experience.

“The Lake Pagosa and Lake Hatcher areas are especially spread out and remote, creating unique challenges,” said CEO of Visionary Broadband Brian Worthen. “This region is no longer isolated when talking about internet connectivity. I am proud of the difficult work my team has completed in this rocky terrain.”

The support and funds for the internet expansion came from the state’s Advance Colorado program and the federal Capital Projects Fund.

“High-speed, reliable internet is no longer a luxury, but a necessity in our increasingly interconnected world,” said Eric Hittle, the technical director of Archuleta County Broadband Services. “Visionary has long been a critical partner in advancing our region’s connectivity, and this infrastructure investment is another milestone in this valuable partnership. It will open up digital opportunities to our community for years to come.”

Visionary Broadband, founded in 1994, is a rural internet provider that currently serves five states. It focuses on connecting rural communities and bringing efficiency, reliability and affordability to its customers. For more information, visit www.vcn.com.
