MONROE, La. (KNOE) – On Oct. 10, 1973, the Vice President of the United States was under fire.
A Justice Department investigation found evidence Spiro Agnew had accepted bribes throughout his political career, even as vice president.
He pled no contest to federal tax evasion in exchange for dropping those charges.
Agnew resigned later that same day.
He was sentenced to a $10,000, three years probation and was disbarred in Maryland.
