The Shanghai Masters is approaching the finish line, and on Friday, there will be a very special name playing on the Stadium Court.
When it comes to the Shanghai Masters, the day’s eagerly awaited matches will see Daniil Medvedev face Alex de Minaur and Arthur Rinderknech play Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Medvedev had a spat with an umpire during his match with Learner Tien, and it’s usually a box office occasion when he steps out on a tennis court.
However, on Friday, there will be another situation that is far more box office for the spectators who have paid for a ticket at the Stadium Court.

It’s been claimed recently that Federer has been practising on the tennis court once again.
Now, he’s set to get the chance to play in a professional stadium once again, with the 20-time Grand Slam winner set to finish the day’s play on the Stadium Court on Friday.
Federer will take part in a celebrity doubles match featuring former professional WTA player Zheng Jie.
The Swiss legend will partner Star Wars star and film-maker Donnie Yen, whilst Jie will play alongside former professional footballer Wu Lei.
Given that it is unexpected for Federer to appear on a tennis court again, it’s naturally going to be an exciting occasion for all of those fortunate enough to have tickets.
This could be the first step to a Federer and Nadal senior tour
It’s quite exciting to see that Federer is getting back on a tennis court, and maybe Nadal will follow suit soon.
Federer and Nadal have been linked with creating some kind of seniors tour, and it’s almost certain that tickets for such a concept would be snapped up.
Federer is one of the best players to have ever swung a tennis racket, and it really will be special to see him hitting some balls in an exhibition environment tomorrow.
The match is likely to be light-hearted and will entertain the fans in a different way from the Shanghai Masters quarterfinals that take place before it.
What it will do, however, is get the juices going for the fan base to see legends like Federer back on the court more frequently, and hopefully, this can be the start of a new normal.
