Iga Swiatek is already being talked about amongst some of the greats after her sixth Grand Slam triumph.
Swiatek won Wimbledon for the first time this year, despite having struggled on grass courts in previous years.
This culminated in an emphatic final victory, where Swiatek beat Amanda Anisimova without dropping a single game.
Since winning her first Wimbledon, Swiatek has been compared to Steffi Graf and she has now also been compared to Serena Williams.

Top tennis coach Rick Macci has a lot of experience working with some of the best players on the WTA Tour including the Williams sisters and Maria Sharapova.
Macci coached Serena Williams as a child, and has now explained what he thinks Swiatek did at Wimbledon that reminded him of the 23-time major winner.
He wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Iga is one of the best we have seen mentally since Serena. At Wimbledon once she got a hold of you she was like a Polish Pitbull and would not let go.”
Swiatek only dropped one set to Caty McNally in her entire run at Wimbledon, which included her last 20 consecutive games at the tournament.

Has Iga Swiatek ever played Serena Williams?
Despite the brief overlap in their careers, Swiatek and Serena Williams have never played each other in a match.
However, after Williams retired in 2022, they did meet at the US Open two years later and had a conversation.
When asked what was said during this conversation in her press conference, Swiatek revealed that Serena had boosted her confidence ahead of her match.
“It was really nice to see her. She has a lot of positive energy,” said Swiatek. “It is nice that she came on-site and she was chatting with the players because for me, even though we met before and for like a couple of years we have been on the same side and on the tours together, she is still like star-striking me (smiling).
“It was nice that she approached me, because I wouldn’t for sure find the courage to do that (smiling) if it was the other way. Yeah, she is really nice and really positive.
“I’m happy that she is following tennis and like my game because she told me she is cheering for me. It’s always nice to hear that from somebody like Serena.”
