BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A shark was spotted swimming through a flooded parking lot near the Boynton Beach Inlet on Friday, as heavy rains and a King Tide pushed ocean water into streets.

The rare sighting was caused by a perfect storm of King Tides and daily torrential rain, which raised ocean levels and temporarily displaced marine life.

While the King Tide ended on Friday, the shark may not be the only unexpected visitor in the streets.

If you encounter a shark in flood waters, stay safe—don’t approach or touch it. Contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) at 1-888-404-3922 for help.
