SpaceX crews have again postponed a Falcon 9 rocket launch attempt from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on an Amazon Project Kuiper internet satellite mission.

Facing rough seas offshore along the Eastern Seaboard, SpaceX is now targeting 8:29 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, for liftoff from Launch Complex 40. Mission: Deploy Amazon’s 28 satellites into low-Earth orbit.

This KF-03 mission was initially planned for Thursday, Oct. 9 — but rainfall and flooding swamped the Space Coast. Then SpaceX moved the mission to Saturday night before delaying again and settling on Sunday’s target time.

The Space Force’s 45th Weather Squadron predicted 95% odds of favorable conditions for Sunday’s nighttime liftoff try, with cumulus clouds posing a low threat. However, a low-to-moderate risk of poor booster recovery weather will remain in effect at sea for SpaceX’s drone ship.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood sdvisory through 4 a.m. Monday and a high rip current risk through 4 a.m. Monday for northern Brevard County.
