Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is bringing its Project Kuiper satellite broadband service to Pakistan by the end of 2026, according to local media reports. The move marks another big step in Amazon’s plan to expand affordable high-speed internet access around the world.

The company reportedly plans to build ground infrastructure in Pakistan including gateway stations and local network points to support the service. Project Kuiper will use a network of over 3,200 low-Earth-orbit satellites, designed to deliver download speeds of up to 400 Mbps through low-cost user terminals.

Once launched, the service is expected to help connect remote and underserved regions, potentially transforming Pakistan’s digital landscape and creating new opportunities in its IT and telecom sectors.

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, called the initiative a step forward in advancing digital inclusion and strengthening our connectivity ecosystem.

With this expansion, Amazon is positioning Kuiper as a key rival to SpaceX’s Starlink in the global satellite internet race.
