There’s no such thing as a friendly match at Celtic. Especially if your name is Scott Brown.
The Hoops legend was famed for his intimidating pre-match stare as he switched from dressing room joker to full-blown warrior the moment he entered the tunnel.
Brown hung up his boots three years ago after a trophy-laden career, but it’s clear the ferocious midfielder hasn’t lost his competitive spirit.
The 40-year-old – now in charge of Ayr United – was part of a star-studded Celtic squad who travelled to the Netherlands for a charity clash with Feyenoord on Sunday.
Brown – the second most successful Parkhead skipper behind Billy McNeill – led out the Legends team at the iconic De Kuip as both clubs competed in the inaugural Wim Jansen Cup.
But with Celtic trailing 2-1 in the dying minutes, the quadruple Treble-winning icon was incredibly sent off after a last-man tackle.
Despite TV replays appearing to show he’d cleanly won the ball, the referee pointed to the spot – sparking fury from Brown and teammate Barry Robson.

The pair furiously protested the decision, pointing in the whistler’s face, before Brown’s temper finally boiled over.
The man in the middle reached for his top pocket and brandished the red card as incensed Brown was waved off by both the referee and the home crowd.
But he’d have felt justice was served moments later when Lukasz Zaluska saved Dirk Kuyt’s 88th-minute spot-kick.
It spared Celtic Legends a heavier defeat at the home of the Eredivisie giants, but Feyenoord still ended the afternoon with bragging rights as 2-1 winners.
Diego Biseswar and Graziano Pelle got the goals for the hosts, with Charlie Mulgrew netting a consolation.
