Joe Pantoliano is heading to the MCU.

The 74-year-old actor revealed that he plays an undisclosed role in the upcoming Marvel television series Wonder Man.

“I’m gonna be in the new Wonder Man series,” Pantoliano confirmed at a Matrix reunion panel held at New York Comic Con on Sunday. Entertainment Weekly reached out to Marvel for comment.

While he did not disclose his role, Pantoliano said he had a blast shooting the Yahya Abdul-Mateen II-led superhero series.

“Yahya!” he agreed, riffing on his costar’s name. “And Sir Ben Kingsley. Just to hear him say my name, Joe Pantoliano.”

He also confirmed that Kingsley never once referred to him as his widely used nickname, “Joey Pants,” throughout filming. “No, never, he never did. He called me Lord Trousers,” Pantoliano teased. “I can’t be Joey. I’m 74, so it’s Joseph Trousers.”

This isn’t Pantoliano’s first foray with Marvel. He previously starred as Ben Urich in the 2003 Daredevil film headlined by Ben Affleck. It is currently unclear whether or not he will be reprising his role as the investigative journalist or taking on a new character as he heads to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly ahead of New York Comic Con, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum teased that Wonder Man is a meta story “about acting and the journey of an actor in Hollywood.”

The Disney+ series will see Abdul-Mateen star as Simon Williams, an actor who auditions for the lead role in an upcoming Wonder Man reboot. He is accompanied on his quest by Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery, with the pair forming a fast friendship over their shared passion for acting.

Winderbaum also confirmed that Wonder Man is taking a page from WandaVision and shifting its release date from December to January 2026. “We don’t want it to get swallowed up by people watching Home Alone and Die Hard and Elf,” he added.
