ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A teenager is facing charges after he was arrested for allegedly breaking into nearly 30 cars at an apartment complex in Atlanta.
According to police, officers responded to a call about multiple cars being broken into at Westley on the Beltline apartment complex, located at 370 Northside Dr. NW, just after 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 19. The call came from someone who saw two juvenile males breaking into about 27 vehicles in the parking deck.
When officers arrived, they saw a suspicious vehicle trying to leave the location. They tried to perform a traffic stop on the car, and after a brief refusal to stop, the car pulled over on the side of the road.
Two male suspects ran away from the officers after the car stopped, according to police. One of the suspects, a 15-year-old boy, was quickly arrested. Officers were able to recover a firearm from the teenager’s possession.
Police say additional units “secured the abandoned vehicle, which was confirmed stolen.” Officers also found multiple stolen credit cards, key fobs and tools that may be linked to other break-ins.
The 15-year-old suspect is facing the following charges after being arrested for the car break-ins at the apartment complex:

According to police, the other suspect is still at large.
