Helen Hunt sent a direct message to Stephen Colbert after he announced The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’s cancellation.
On Friday, July 18, the iconic ’90s actress, 62, took to Instagram with a 2018 clip of herself on Colbert’s late-night show and a rallying cry.
“Please don’t stop. Please don’t calm down,” the Twister star captioned her update, next to a clip of her discussing Colbert’s strong reaction to Donald Trump winning the 2016 presidential election.
“You’re brilliant at so many things and you have given so much to me and millions of people by sharing your dazzling intellect, your hard-earned spiritual perspective and your unparalleled talent,” Hunt continued. ” We all know what this is. And you can rest in the knowledge that history will put you on the right side of everything.”
To conclude her post, the Mad About You actress implored Colbert, “I’ll be waiting with bated breath to see how you make this the best thing that could have happened. Stay on fire and if there is any way I can ever support you in doing that, I’m here waiting.”
In the comments, Hunt’s fans praised her for her words of support to Colbert.
