Marvel Comics has announced the end of the Ultimate Universe, which will take place in 2026 with five final issues.
Those final issues will be Ultimate Spider-Man #24, written by Jonathan Hickman, art and cover by Marco Checchetto, out December 24Ultimate Black Panther #24, written by Bryan Hill, art and cover by Stefano Caselli, out January 21Ultimate X-Men #24, written, art, and cover by Peach Momoko, out February 11Ultimates #24, written by Deniz Camp, art by Juan Frigeri, cover by Dike Ruan, out AprilUltimate Wolverine #16, written by Chris Condon, art and cover by Alessandro Cappuccio, out April
This version of the Ultimate Universe began with Ultimate Invasion in June 2023 (see “Hickman and Hitch Revive Ultimate Universe“) and will conclude with the five-issue Ultimate Endgame (see “‘Ultimate Endgame’ Announced“), as announced at the San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year. In that event story, the Maker is released from captivity. Ultimate Endgame #1 will also feature the first-ever Marvel Blind Bags (see “Marvel Plans Blind Bags“).
This isn’t the end of Ultimate Universe effects, however, as Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #5, out this month, shows Miles Morales returning to the core Marvel universe with some “Origin Boxes,” the Maker’s tool for capturing the powers of superheroes.
