Hockey fans will have no shortage of unique concessions options at some NHL arenas during the 2025-26 season.
In an effort to entice more fans to watch their favorite NHL teams in person, a handful of clubs released some eccentric and very on-brand food items.
If you enjoyed Capital One Arena’s specialty creations in recent years, like the “DC Flammin’ Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich” or the “Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich on a Cinnamon Roll,” then these new menu options will be right up your alley.
The Beer Sabre & Big Parm Thompson (BUF)
They say there’s no bad way to drink beer, but the Buffalo Sabres may have found one. X user @plantyaf_716 posted a photo of the “Beer Sabre” soon to be served at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center. It’s precisely what you’d expect: a plastic sword-shaped vessel filled with Labatt’s new Blue & Blonde Ale, the team’s official beer sponsor.
While the team is placing a lot of trust in attendees to not swashbuckle or impale one another in the stands, the Beer Sabre is a unique take on the hockey stick and baseball bat beer cups previously sold at NHL and MLB games.
Sabres fans can also use their new souvenir to wash down a two-foot chicken parm sandwich, which the team is offering this season. The “Big Parm Thompson” puts Subway to shame and is inspired by centerman Tage Thompson’s actual pre-game meal, per the team.

The Sabres are offering an additional Thompson-inspired item called “The Tage Hero: an Italian-style sandwich with Genoa salami, pepperoni, ham, capicola, provolone, mozzarella, red wine vinegar, lettuce, tomato, and onion on a toasted sub roll.
As a tribute to the franchise’s past, the Sabres are also debuting “The French Connection sandwich,” which honors their famous forward line of Rick Martin, Gilbert Perreault, and Rene Robert from the 1970s. The sandwich includes three layers of French toast, ham, cheese, fried egg, and mustard cream sauce.
The Chum Bucket (SJS)
The San Jose Sharks have put together a new take on a classic sporting event snack. “The Chum Bucket,” presented by Aramark Sports, features your typical buttered popcorn but indulgently topped with teal chocolate (the team’s primary color), red chocolate (the color of blood), strawberry Pop-Tart chunks, and freeze-dried strawberries.
The new popcorn concoction is served in a large bucket decorated with various shark-themed artwork on a deep-sea background.
Garlic knots in a goalie mask (NJD)
The New Jersey Devils will be serving a four-piece basket of garlic knots with marinara sauce, presented in a red Devils goalie mask.
The team also released a menu of four additional items inspired by fan suggestions, now available for purchase at Prudential Center in Newark, including bacon jam grilled cheese and pulled pork nachos.
Crispy mozzarella pucks (CHI)
Fitting for a hockey game, the Chicago Blackhawks have taken simple fried cheese to another level, shaping their breaded mozzarella into pucks. X user @Amwysoc snapped a photo of what fans can expect at the United Center this season.
The club is celebrating 100 years in the NHL with more centennial-themed fare, including four different types of hot dogs and cocktails for each “chapter” of the franchise’s history.
