SALT LAKE CITY — One man is in critical condition after a shooting in Sandy Monday evening.
Sgt. Michael Olsen with the Sandy City Police Department said a robbery occurred near Main Street Park at around 8:20 p.m., which resulted in the shooting.

According to Olsen, the victim is a 40-year-old man. He was taken to Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
There were people who witnessed the shooting. They are cooperating with the police, according to Olsen.
At this time, police do not believe there is a danger to the public, and say the shooting “was possibly done by a known person.”
The investigation is ongoing.
