CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — A possible bobcat was spotted in southwest Cedar Rapids.
A photo taken between 1st Avenue and 16th Avenue SW shows an animal with a short tail, leading some to believe it may be a bobcat.
Wildlife officials have not confirmed the sighting, but bobcats have become increasingly common in eastern Iowa in recent years.
The Iowa DNR says the bobcat population has been increasing by 7% every year since 2007.
