The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office and Pacific County Emergency Management Agency along with emergency responders from multiple agencies are currently working to rescue an injured man from remote forestland near Naselle.
According to PCEMA Director Scott McDougall, he is coordinating with the U.S. Coast Guard to get a helicopter into the area to airlift the man out.
The sheriff’s office has pulled together a Search and Rescue team that is currently en route to the scene in case a ground rescue is needed.
A helicopter is expected to be one scene in about 30 minutes — at about 4:50 p.m.
Sheriff Daniel Garcia has worked to reestablish the Pacific County Search and Rescue team since taking office. The team is currently comprised of professionals with expertise that include rope rescues, water rescues, and wilderness survival.
