DOTHAN, Ala. — Youth basketball in Dothan is getting a major upgrade this fall with the launch of the city’s first-ever Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA Youth Basketball League — a nationally recognized program backed by the NBA and WNBA.
The new league is designed to help young athletes develop their basketball skills while emphasizing confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and engaging setting. For the first time, girls will compete in their own dedicated league, a major step toward expanding opportunities for young female players in the Wiregrass area.
The program is open to boys and girls ages 7 through 18. Registration is $40, which includes an official reversible Jr. NBA or Jr. WNBA jersey for players in the 8U to 14U divisions.
Registration is open now through Sunday, Oct. 19, and space is limited.
