Indiana Fever star point guard Caitlin Clark is a hardcore Kansas City Chiefs fan and has never shied away from showing her love for the four-time Super Bowl champions. In Week 6 of the NFL, the Chiefs hosted the Detroit Lions on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO.

Clark was present alongside American pop star Taylor Swift in the stands to showcase her love and support for Patrick Mahomes and Co. The Chiefs ultimately triumphed in the contest, courtesy of a Mahomes masterclass, winning 30-17 and improving to 3-3 for the season. Meanwhile, before the start of the game, the Fever star made a young Chiefs fan’s day extra memorable.

How Did Caitlin Clark Make the Day of a Young Chiefs’ Fan Extra Special?

Before the Sunday kickoff at Arrowhead Stadium, Clark stopped by a young fan wearing a Travis Kelce No. 87 jersey. She performed a beautiful gesture for the kid by posing with him for a wholesome photograph. The lovely gesture would have made the young boy’s day extra special, as he shared a gleeful smile for the camera alongside the WNBA star.

Clark had a disappointing 2025 WNBA season, which was marred by injuries that limited her playing time on the court. She is a two-time All-Star who made her professional debut last year when the Fever selected her as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Clark won the WNBA Rookie of the Year honors last season, but in 2025, despite being named an All-Star, she was unable to help her team during the playoffs due to a right groin injury. Alongside Clark, the Fever also missed several other players because of various injuries, but despite that, they reached the WNBA semifinals.

After five highly competitive games against the Las Vegas Aces, the Fever lost, but their quest for a second championship continued. Team doctors ran several medical tests on Clark’s soft tissue injuries. While they reported no significant or new injuries to the Fever star, she was effectively sidelined for the remainder of the season in July.

Clark Will Aim to Win the WNBA Championship With the Fever Next Season

On September 4, Clark made the difficult announcement that she wouldn’t be returning for the remaining 2025 campaign via social media post. She further mentioned how hard she had tried for a return, but it wasn’t enough. Furthermore, she thanked the fans and the city of Indiana for always being there for her through uncertain times.

While Clark is now working on her rehab, she will definitely aim for glory with her Fever squad next year. The fans and the front office staff would hope for the same, that their rising star recovers from her injuries soon and comes back stronger in the 2026 WNBA season.
