RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Book lovers unite as the American Association of University Women is back in Rapid City for the 60th edition of their annual book sale.
People looking to buy their next interesting read can find AAUW at the Central States Fairgrounds from 5 to 7 pm Friday.
The sale will include thousands of used books ranging from every genre, including children’s, non-fiction, and fiction books, listed at affordable prices.
All proceeds raised during the event will go to funding scholarships for women seeking associate’s, bachelor’s, and advanced degrees.
The effort is aligned with the organization’s mission to advance education and equity for women and girls.
“Last year we were able to fund 10 scholarships for young women from the Black Hills area, and we have two new scholarships this year,” said a Membership Chair of AAUW, Lisa Ficek. “One of them is for an art student. There’s also a $2,000 STEM scholarship for an SDSU student of nursing.”
Anyone interested in donating books and volunteering at the sale can visit this link.
The event wraps on Sunday, running from 10 am to 2 pm.
