Charles Leclerc has made his point plain and simple that he’s not giving up on Ferrari despite all the rumors and the questions about his future. The Monegasque star has doubled down on his dream of winning Formula 1 titles with the Maranello outfit, and for him, Ferrari isn’t just a team but a dream and a lifelong obsession.

What Did Charles Leclerc Say About All the Rumours?

Leclerc is one of Formula 1’s biggest names and Ferrari’s main man since joining the team back in 2019, but this year has tested his patience quite a lot. After a few tough weekends and some brutally honest comments about Ferrari’s lack of progress, reports in Italy suggested there was some tension within the team, with some even hinting about a few Ferrari engineers being frustrated by Leclerc’s blunt tone.

But the 28-year-old brushed all that aside during media day in Austin and admitted, “I’ve made it very clear. My opinion is that I love the team and I’ve always loved Ferrari and I want to win again with Ferrari, and that doesn’t really change.”

Leclerc stressed that he believes in the team’s long-term plan and that outside talk doesn’t affect his focus. “Whenever you’re in a team, you’ve got to trust the project. We’re all working really hard to turn things around, and I think next year is going to be a big opportunity for us,” he added.

He further added, “I’ve always loved Ferrari so much and my only obsession at the moment is to win in red whether it’s now or in the future. And I want to bring back Ferrari to the top.”

That faith in Ferrari’s project might come as a relief for fans who feared he could be tempted to go elsewhere after a set of horrible results with the prancing horse this season but Leclerc doesn’t seem interested in any exit strategy at least for now.

Leclerc Focused on the Future and Not the Drama

Leclerc isn’t new to challenges, as he first entered Formula 1 as a Ferrari junior and spent his rookie season at Alfa Romeo before earning his spot at Ferrari in 2019. Since then, he’s collected eight race wins and more disappointments than he’d probably like to count but through it all his determination has never changed.

Ferrari’s 2025 season has been an up-and-down story but Leclerc insists that there’s no lack of motivation within the team. “I’m fully motivated,” he said ahead of the United States Grand Prix. “When things are not going our way, I think we’re all fully motivated to turn the situation around.”

He also explained Ferrari’s decision to hold off on major car upgrades, “We don’t have any upgrades where we might think, ‘Okay, we’re going to do a significant step forward’, but if we put everything together perfectly, especially on a weekend like this with a Sprint, it can be an opportunity. I hope we can be back on the podium, it’s been a long time.”

Leclerc Has a Long-Term Vision With Ferrari

Ferrari’s upcoming challenge is the 2026 regulation reset, which will bring major changes to both engines and car design in Formula 1 and will be a huge reset that could shake up the pecking order completely. For Leclerc, it’s a chance for Ferrari to get back on equal footing with the likes of Red Bull and Mercedes.

He’s already signed a new multi-year deal to stay with Ferrari reportedly until 2029 although the team didn’t reveal the exact length but the message was clear. “I’m optimistic because I know the team, I know the people, and I know that we are working in the right direction. Obviously next year is going to be a very important turning point, and we’ll see,” he said.

The Monegasque star is determined to stay patient and his belief in the Scuderia remains as strong as ever even with the ups and downs.

For now, Leclerc isn’t looking for an escape route but rather a way forward with Ferrari all the way to the top of the Formula 1 leader board.
