The WSU men’s basketball season is approaching with 33 games. Games will begin on Oct. 25, 2025, and will end on March 5, 2026.
The Cougs will face off against New Mexico first at its exhibition game on Oct. 25, before officially starting the season against the Idaho Vandals at Beasley Coliseum on Nov. 3.
During the 2024-25 season, the Cougs finished No. 6 in the WCC, with a conference record of 8-10 and an overall record of 19-15.
The WCC schedule and the conference ranking reflect the following:
@ Portland, Dec. 28
To start off the Cougs’ conference games, they will face Portland on Dec. 28 on the road. Last season, the Cougs beat Portland 92-70. Portland finished No. 8 in the conference last season, with a conference record of 7-11 and an overall record of 12-20. WSU will play them for their second matchup on Jan. 27.
@ Seattle, Dec. 30
The Cougs will face Seattle twice, once on Dec. 30 on the road and once on Jan. 27 at Beasley Coliseum. Seattle finished last season with a conference record of 8-8 and an overall record of 14-18.

vs. LMU, Jan. 2
Loyola Marymount University (LMU) will face the Cougs on Jan. 2 at Beasley Coliseum. LMU ranked No. 7 with a conference record of 8-10 and an overall record of 17-15 during the last season. The Cougs beat LMU 73-59 last season. In the Cougs’ second to last matchup of the year they will tip off against the Lions on either Feb. 24 or 26 for their second game.
vs. Oregon State, Jan. 4
The Cougs will compete with Oregon State on Jan. 4. Oregon State stood No. 5 last season with a conference record of 10-8 and an overall record of 20-13. The Beavers beat the Cougs by 82-74 during the last season. They play their second round against them on either Feb. 3 or 5, leaving only about a month between the two matchups.

@ Saint Mary’s, Jan. 10
The Cougs will compete with Saint Mary’s on Jan. 10. Saint Mary’s stood No. 1 last season with a conference record of 17-1 and an overall record of 29-6. They beat the Cougs twice last season, blowing them out at home and beating WSU by five in Pullman. Their second time tipping off against the Gael’s will come either on Feb. 21 or 22 near the end of the year.

vs. Gonzaga, Jan. 13
The Cougs will compete with the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Jan. 13. Gonzaga finished No. 2 last season with a conference record of 14-4 and an overall record of 26-9. Gonzaga beat the Cougs twice last season. They will take on the Bulldogs later on in February either on Feb. 10 or 12 for their second matchup.

@ San Francisco, Jan. 17
The Cougs will compete with San Francisco on Jan. 17. San Francisco finished third last season with a conference record of 13-5 and overall record of 25-10. The Cougs beat San Francisco 91-82 in their first matchup last year, but lost their second matchup, and lost again to the Dons in the WCC tournament, which eliminated them from the postseason.
@ San Diego, Jan. 20
The Cougs will compete with San Diego on Jan. 20. San Diego finished No. 11 last season with a conference record of 2-16 and an overall record of 6-27. The Cougs beat San Diego twice, winning 65-61 in San Diego and 93-86 at home.
vs. Pepperdine, Jan. 24
The Cougs will face Pepperdine on Jan 24. Pepperdine stood at No. 9 last season with a conference record of 4-14 and an overall record of 13-22. The Cougs beat Pepperdine twice last year, winning 87-86 at home and 90-53 on the road. To finish out the regular season the Cougs will tip off with Pepperdine either on Feb. 28 or March 1 at the end of the year.
