It was a scary situation at Waggener High School Thursday night, as the railing of a student section collapsed.It happened during a St. X-Trinity soccer match.The Tigers nailed their final penalty kick to beat the Trinity Rocks 4-2, when the Tigers’ celebration went awry.St. X players went over to the student section to celebrate and the railing of the stands collapsed. He said all of the students and players have non-life-threatening injuries.The soccer team also shared a post online saying it is quote “deeply saddened by the sudden injuries that occurred while celebrating the team.” WLKY has reached out to JCPS for more information.”Thankfully, none of the injuries were life-threatening, and all affected students are recovering,” a spokesperson said.They did say those bleachers were inspected on Sept. 5 by the Department of Codes and Regulations and were found to be in compliance.Saturday games for Waggener will be moved to Ballard High School.
