The final event of the NBA Cares x Sands Cares Community Impact Week wrapped up Sunday with the “Her Time to Play” basketball clinic at the NBA House in The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo Hall A.
The event, co-organised by NBA Cares and Sands Cares, marked a powerful conclusion to a week of community engagement coinciding with The NBA China Games 2025 at The Venetian Arena.
The clinic brought together NBA Legend Deron Williams and WNBA player Myisha Hines-Allen for an inspiring session with more than 30 young female basketball players from Pui Ching Middle School Macau and Keng Peng School, as well as students and coaches from NBA Cares’ “Her Time to Play” initiative.

The two athletes shared valuable insights on skill development, teamwork, and perseverance, encouraging participants to pursue their ambitions both on and off the court.
The event included a hands-on basketball clinic, where Williams and Hines-Allen guided the young athletes through drills and strategies before an energetic five-on-five friendly skills challenge.
A lively halftime performance by a cheerleading team further elevated the atmosphere, celebrating the power of sports to unite and uplift.
To close the clinic, Hines-Allen, alongside Catherine Kong, vice president of corporate communications and community affairs for Sands China Ltd., and Sands Cares Ambassadors, distributed goodie bags prepared earlier in the week to all participants as tokens of encouragement and support.

The five-day NBA Cares x Sands Cares Community Impact Week (Oct. 8–12) featured a series of outreach events alongside The NBA China Games 2025 at The Venetian Arena.
These included a exchanges with local schools, boxed lunch distribution to the community, and a community basketball carnival.
All these initiatives form part of the Sands Cares global corporate citizenship programme, illustrating Sands China’s long-term dedication to community engagement and empowerment through sports and education.
