Tricon Garage has made a significant move for the future. The team has added championship-winning crew chief Jeff Stankiewicz to the competition department.
The team announced the news on Monday, mere days after rookie driver Gio Ruggiero scored his first career national NASCAR series win at Talladega Superspeedway. Tricon Garage noted that Stankiewicz will join, effective immediately.
The team did not detail the role that Stankiewicz will fill as he moves to Toyota’s top Craftsman Truck Series team. Tricon noted it will make driver and crew chief announcements for 2026 at a later date.
The veteran crew chief has guided numerous drivers across the ARCA Menards Series, Craftsman Truck Series, and Xfinity Series. This includes scoring a Truck Series win at Eldora Speedway with Kyle Larson in 2016. He also guided Sheldon Creed to a seventh-place finish in the Xfinity championship standings in 2023
Stankiewicz and Creed also celebrated two standout seasons together in the Truck Series. They won five races and the championship in 2020. They then won three more races in 2021 before ending the season fifth in the championship standings.
Stankiewicz also achieved significant success while working with Grant Enfinger across multiple series. They first celebrated six wins and the 2015 ARCA Menards Series championship together and then they captured a Truck Series win at Talladega the following season.
Stankiewicz and Enfinger reunited on a full-time basis in 2024 at CR7 Motorsports. They celebrated two wins together and reached the Championship 4. They ultimately ended the season fourth in the standings.
The duo spent the first 20 races of this season together at CR7 Motorsports. They fell short of victory lane but reached the playoffs while posting 12 top-10 finishes and seven top-fives. The Truck Series team then made a crew chief change and paired Enfinger with Michael Shelton.
“Jeff is an accomplished veteran and someone we’ve always viewed as a top-tier competitor within the Truck Series garage,” said Kevin Ray, partner and general manager of Tricon Garage.
“He’s a championship-caliber leader that will immediately elevate our program and position our organization for even greater success in the future.”
