MURRAY, KY — It’s one thing to hear people say how good a team might be, but it’s another thing to actually see that proof on the court.
That is what the Murray State Racers experienced following their exhibition game this past Saturday against Xavier. The Racers came away with a 75-70 win against the Big East opponent.
“It gives you a lot of confidence,” sophomore KJ Tenner said. “Because we practice against each other so much, and it gets repetitive, you really don’t know. You kind of have questions about your team, and we’re going out there seeing that we can compete. Being on the same level as a team like that in the Big East, it gave us a gave us a great level of confidence.”
“Our guys have played a big east games or whatnot,” head coach Ryan Miller said. “So I knew we belonged. But for them to see it and, you know, all the preseason and all the stuff that they come up with, rankings and whatnot, you know, you don’t know it until you get out there, you play against a really good opponent and Xavier.”
Murray State will play their second and final exhibition game this coming Sunday when they host Northern State.
