Tommy Fleetwood‘s stellar 2025 continues to shine brighter as he delivered an outstanding performance on the final day to clinch the inaugural DP World India Championship.

Just about a month after Fleetwood and Team Europe’s Ryder Cup victory over Keegan Bradley’s Team USA at Bethpage Black, the 34-year-old extended his impressive season by triumphing at Delhi Golf Club. Fleetwood, who earlier this year won the FedExCup, managed to overturn a two-shot deficit during his final round, which included five birdies in a seven-hole stretch, catapulting him to the top of the leaderboard.

Ultimately, Fleetwood finished -22, two shots ahead of Keita Nakajima, with the win earning him a cool $680,000 from his success in India. It comes after Shane Lowry shared his regret over a “stupid” moment as Fleetwood made him pay.

While playing at Delhi Golf Club, Fleetwood was cheered on by his son Frankie, who was seen imitating his father’s shots before they were executed for real.

Fleetwood confessed that this endearing moment served as a source of motivation and inspiration. However, he also mentioned that he tried not to dwell on it “too much” so as to stay focused on the task at hand.

In a media interaction prior to the final day of action in India, when asked about his son mimicking his shots, Fleetwood said: “I try not to focus on it too much.

“He’s my biggest supporter, and yeah, my family are my biggest source of motivation and inspiration if you like.

“They give me that, so I love having them here to support. It’s amazing watching Frankie grow up and how into the golf he is, how biased he is. There’s a lot of players out there that he really likes but he’s very biased toward his dad, so I’m very pleased with that.

“It’s cool seeing him. The thing is when you see him — I missed a couple putts toward the end, and I could see his emotions going, as well, so I’m trying to control my own.

“Honestly, it’s great, and like I say, my family are such a motivation to me and inspiration, so having him around and having Frankie growing up and being so into it is really cool for me.”

It was Fleetwood’s desire to celebrate alongside his son in New Delhi which drove his DP World Tour victory in India.

“Another win feels great,” said Fleetwood after the triumph.

“We were at home last week and we were driving the buggy playing golf together and he just said randomly — ‘Do you know what you’ve never done? You’ve never won a tournament and then I’ve been able to run onto the 18th green’.

“I had that written down all week. It was just another opportunity really.

“There’s going to be many more times where I hopefully get the chance to do that, but that was all day today what I had in my mind. Could I put myself in a position where I can actually make that moment happen? It’s just one of those little things.

“It means so much to me and that was really cool.”
