The Duffer brothers are dishing on the highly anticipated fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.”
Viewers hoping to see the return of fan-favorite Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) are getting an update straight from the Netflix series creators!
Quinn’s heavy metal-loving character stole the show in season 4 and skyrocketed his career, landing him a high-profile role in Marvel’s blockbuster “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”
So, with Quinn’s Hollywood stock soaring, did the Duffers consider resurrecting their Hellfire Club hero?
“I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead,” Matt Duffer told Empire in an Oct. 20 interview.
“Joe is so busy anyway, that everyone should know he’s not coming back. He’s shot like five movies since! When the hell has he got time to come and shoot Stranger Things? No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground.”
For those of you who missed last season of “Stranger Things,” Quinn’s character was mauled to death by Demobats in the Upside Down — which, for the record, does not look like a peaceful way to die.
The Empire interview also scored intel on new character Dr. Kay (Linda Hamilton), who plays a government agent pursuing Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
“She’s hyper-intelligent and intimidating,” Matt Duffer said of Dr. Kay. “She’s a scientist, but if she needs to, she can get into a fight and shoot a gun.”
“Stranger Things” final season culminates with four episodes on Nov. 26, three episodes on Christmas, and the finale episode on New Year’s Eve.
