Tom Cruise had “high hopes” that Ana de Armas might be wife No. 4 — and now he’s “humiliated” by their split, a source tells the National Enquirer.
“He’s upset that it’s all fallen apart and he’s having to face his big fear that he’s somehow undatable,” a source says of the A-lister, 63.
He had the Ballerina actress, 37, at hello. “She got swept up in the excitement of dating a huge movie star,” the source acknowledges of their whirlwind romance after they were first linked in February.
“But Tom’s need to be in control can be overwhelming, and eventually Ana started to feel suffocated,” adds the source.

Just as the Mission: Impossible star was gearing up to announce their engagement, “she asked for space,” says the source. “Tom took it hard and things kind of snowballed from there.”
From Cruise’s perspective, “Ana suddenly went from red hot to ice cold,” explains the source, noting that she certainly got a lot of press during their relationship.
“Tom’s saying he feels used,” says the source, and now that she’s complaining to friends about his micromanaging, “it’s shaping up to be a messy split.”
