The Wood River Wolverines volleyball team punched its ticket to the Idaho Class 5A state tournament, set to begin Oct. 30, with a 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18 victory over the Twin Falls Bruins in Game 6 of the Great Basin district tournament on Tuesday at Wood River High School.
Wood River will take the court at Timberline High School in Boise on Oct. 30, with the state tournament running through Nov. 1.
With the victory, the Wolverines will host the Great Basin district championship game (Game 8 of the tournament) on Thursday against an opponent to-be-determined. Game time is set for 5 p.m. at Wood River High School. If the Wolverines lose the 5 p.m. contest, there will be a second game as the tournament is double elimination and Wood River has not lost a game in the district tournament.
