(ABC 6 News) — The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death of a Rochester man who was hit by a car as an accident.

38-year-old Nathan Westergaard was hit by a car just before 5 a.m. on August 3. Officers who responded to the scene performed life-saving measures, but he died as a result of his injuries.

According to Rochester police, Westergaard was hit by the vehicle while lying in the road.
