The start of a new NBA season is always an exciting affair. But this year brought some extra interest when the Orlando Magic took on the Miami Heat in their season opener. As the two Florida-based teams faced off, there was an interesting member in the crowd, taking in the action. Supporting her alleged boyfriend, WNBA superstar and one of the most popular athletes on the planet, Angel Reese, was in the building.

Repping the colors of the Magic, her loyalties will be clear, even as a LSU product and Chicago Sky superstar. Ultimately, though, her support, along with a rabid home crowd at the Kia Center in Orlando, gave the team the boost they needed, and they were able to pull off a narrow 125-121 victory over the Heat.

Angel Reese Turns Lucky for Beau

Fresh off her second season in the WNBA, as she once again made the All-Star team and led the league in rebounding, Reese is quickly becoming a truly dominant player and one of the best rebounders of all time.

However, alongside her success on the court, she has also been in the news throughout the summer, thanks to her various brand commitments and a love life that constantly draws fans’ attention.

The rumors of a brewing romance first circulated when Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. was spotted at Reese’s 23rd birthday party. Since then, the two have continued to have playful interactions all across social media.

Arriving in Orlando in 2021 as part of the trade package for franchise legend Nikola Vučević, Carter quickly became a valuable part of the young roster, developing along with their other pieces.

Last offseason, he signed a three-year, $58.7 million extension that is going to keep him with the Magic for the foreseeable future. With the team putting more chips in the box this season, it seems like the franchise is ready to make a deep playoff run.

Ultimately, though, Reese’s coming to the game with a new short bob hairdo and wearing a printed Orlando jumper may have been the final confirmation. As she sat in attendance, the Magic pulled out a victory over Miami in a closely contested battle.

Their superstar duo of Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero led the way with 24 points apiece, while their offseason addition, Desmond Bane, had 23 of his own. Add in valuable contributions from Jalen Suggs and Tristan da Silva, who combined for 30, and the recipe was there for a victory.

The Heat, beginning their first full season without Jimmy Butler, should have seen a lot to be optimistic about. The performances from Norman Powell and Davion Mitchell were brilliant, while fans got their first taste of sophomore Nikola Jović.

Ultimately, though, it was Reese’s alleged boyfriend who found himself at the charity stripe with 6.1 seconds on the clock and a chance to put the game away. He knocked down both free throws, giving the Magic the victory.
