Kristen Bell made her first red carpet appearance amid her recent controversy on Wednesday, October 22.
The actress, 45, and her Nobody Wants This costars Adam Brody, Justin Lupe, Jackie Tohn and Timothy Simons attended a screening of the show at New York City’s 92nd Street Y, followed by a Q&A hosted by Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz.
In TikTok videos posted by fans, the mom of two was all smiles when she arrived outside the venue, signing autographs and chatting and posing with fans. “What a sweetheart! Let it be!” wrote one person who posted a video.
The event came hours after the former Veronica Mars star skipped a scheduled appearance on the Today show alongside Lupe.

As Star previously reported, Bell sparked backlash for an off-color joke she posted on Instagram on Saturday, October 18 to wish her husband, Dax Shepard a happy 12th anniversary.
“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.’ ❤️,” she captioned the post.
Commenters quickly pointed out that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and called the post “tone-deaf” and “disturbing.”
